Dr Ilana Gory
MBBS, FRACP

Gastroenterologist / Hepatologist

Dr Ilana Gory Is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist who combines private practice with a public appointment at The Alfred Hospital. She has a broad range of interests and investigates and treats all gastrointestinal complaints including bowel cancer screening, liver disease (special interest in NAFLD), functional gut disorders and inflammatory bowel disease. Her individual and collaborative research has been presented both nationally and internationally and has led to multiple peer reviewed publications.

Ilana is committed to improving the health outcomes of her patients and providing medical support with a holistic and caring approach. She values the importance of communication and taking the time to explain medical conditions and procedures so patients have a good understanding of their health issues.

Dr Emily Wright
MBBS (Hons), PhD, FRACP
Gastroenterologist

Dr Emily Wright combines private practice with a senior medical specialist appointment at St Vincent’s Public Hospital where she is part of the gastroenterology and inflammatory bowel disease units. Emily has an interest in luminal gastroenterology. Emily holds an appointment at the University of Melbourne and is active clinical researcher in inflammatory bowel disease and the gastrointestinal microbiota. She has access to clinical trials for patients with inflammatory bowel disease through St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.

Dr Bronte Holt
MBBS, BMedSc, PhD, FRACP
Gastroenterologist / Endoscopist

Dr Bronte Holt is an interventional gastroenterologist who specialises in the endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal and pancreaticobiliary systems. She undertook fellowships and a PhD in Sydney and the United States, and performs procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and ERCP, as well as endoscopic resection, dilatations and stents. Bronte is involved in research as a Senior Clinical Fellow at the University of Melbourne and also practices at St Vincent’s Public Hospital.

Dr Sasha Fehily
MBBS (Hons), MPH FRACP

Gastroenterologist

Dr Sasha Fehily is a gastroenterologist and clinician researcher working at St Vincent’s Hospital and undertaking a PhD through the University of Melbourne. Her research involves examining the human microbiome and she is currently leading a trial evaluating faecal transplant in Crohn’s disease.

She has wide-ranging interests in addition to inflammatory bowel disease including, functional gut disorders and liver disease. Her Master of Public Health, and work overseas in developing countries has shaped her holistic and open-minded approach that encompasses the public health sphere. As a gastroenterologist her focus is providing the utmost quality of care to patients, and as a researcher, she hopes to change clinical practice

Dr Emma Flanagan
MBBS (Hons), PhD, FRACP
Gastroenterologist

Dr Emma Flanagan is a gastroenterologist and clinician researcher who combines private practice with a public hospital appointment at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. Emma is an expert in the optimal management of inflammatory bowel disease during pregnancy. Having completed a PhD focussing on inflammatory bowel disease in pregnancy, she continues to lead clinical research as the head of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Pregnancy clinic at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.

Dr Rebecca Smith
MBBS (Hons), PhD, FRACP
Gastroenterologist

Dr Rebecca Smith is a gastroenterologist who combines private practice and her public appointment at the Alfred Hospital, where she works in the inflammatory bowel disease clinics and performs regular intestinal ultrasound. Rebecca's main interests are inflammatory bowel disease and luminal gastroenterology and is interested in treating all gastrointestinal conditions including functional gastrointestinal disorders and liver diseases.
